The first shoots of this project began in 2003, with the request of the French publisher L'Escampette Éditions, for the reissue of a cultural guide about Porto, with unpublished texts by Agustina Bessa-Luís, Eugénio de Andrade , Mário Cláudio, Vasco Graça Moura, Eduardo Lourenço, Manuel António Pina, Manuel Jorge Marmelo and Christian Séguin. At the time of the release, in Bordeaux, an exhibition was held with some of these originals, at Bibliothèque Meriadec.
The project continued until 2013 and the set of images exceeded 900 negatives, becoming even more complete with the registration of new places and buildings that have arised in the meanwhile, always maintaining the initial concept of the project and trying to convey the close connection between tradition and modernity of the city elements.
This project successfully accomplished a photographic exhibition and the edition of a book, a record to keep this visual memory of the city.
